Meet the Quick Hit Team: Mark D!
Current role at Quick Hit?
I am a Senior Web Developer.
So, what does that mean exactly?
That means I am responsible for working on the various front-facing portions of the web site for Quick Hit. I love the fact that everyone logging in and playing the game comes through a user experience that I played a part in building.
I’ve done a lot of work lately on the new improved forums which, I believe, do a great job of capturing the spirit of community for the players and giving that core interaction with the team here. I’ve also been working on the store front. The ability to give your team a sudden boost with extra coaching points is a lot of fun. You get a lot of bang for your buck there! I spent a few dollars and turned the pass happy team I built for 10 levels into a defensive unit by investing my points into skilling up my linebackers and corners. I can’t wait until players see the work we’ve been doing with adding new legends to your team. I think people are going to love it. I do!
What were you doing before you came to QH?
I worked as the web team leader at Arthur J. Gallagher in their Student Insurance Division for almost six years, creating and expanding their web presence. I worked on leading edge applications for their schools, student insured’s, and our claims companies. We increased profitability dramatically while lowering the cost to the school and the students by leveraging web technology.
What do you play when you’re NOT playing QHF?
Enjoying married life and my young son Little Mark. I’m also a complete Fantasy Football and Baseball geek. I can’t get enough.
Who’s your favorite NFL player? Why?
Tough call. I’m a huge LaDainian Tomlinson fan. I have to go with Tom Brady. He’s the face of the dynasty and really the driving force behind the era I will always consider ‘my Patriots team’.
Who’s your least favorite NFL player? Why?
Shannon Sharpe – all time most hated… current day -- Bernard Pollard. Guy is a villain.
With QHF, you get to be the Coach of your own team, but if you could tap into the mind of any football coach (Pro or Collegiate) for advice, who would it be?
Vince Lombardi. I’d have Sean Payton design my offense though.
Finally – any prediction for a Super Bowl winner?
Saints take it home and complete the great feel good story.
